Winter

I love winter...the sweaters, the scarves, the mittens and hats!!!

I also hate winter....the sweaters, the scarves, mittens and hats!!

I love being able to layer and wear cozy sweaters and how cute we all look freshly bundled up and how was come back in with rosy cheeks BUT the preparations for it is just so much.

Some days it's hard enough for me to make sure I have the proper winter outdoor gear on but since having children it's definately added to the stress of winter.

You just can't send them outside to play.  You have to make sure it's not actually freezing cold out because that gorgeous sun can be decieving!!!  You then have to bundle them all up so only their eyes are showing and send them out.  My children are still small so it usually means I also have to get all dressed and play in the snow too, when in actual fact there are so many things I could get done with no children running around screaming!!!  Not happening though!

Now don't get me wrong, I love playing in the snow with my children.  Sliding, skating, making snowmen.  Since I have boys that also means playing trucks in the snow, since you can play trucks anywhere and everywhere!!!

Even just the simplest tasks of going to the store take soooo much effort!  We all need boots, coats and mittens and my little monkeys need hats!

Those are the moments when I miss the heat and ease of summer!

However, I live in New Brunswick, Canada and I will not be escaping winter, so it's time to enjoy this season!

Cute sweaters and all!!!!

Here are a few of my favourites to make the weather worth it!

Navy cable knit sweater - LLBean
Grey short sleever cowl neck sweater - Smart Set

Cream button neck sweater - Loft

Just a few reasons to enjoy the winter season.

Hunter

Mostly I have been blogging about life with my children and husband and all the craziness that comes along with it.

Well the title also includes my other love.....shoes!  Really it's footwear of any kind, well I guess any kind that I like!

So here's a little taste of my immense love of my Hunter Rubber boots purchased from jolly ole England when I was pregnant for my second son.   I convinced myself I needed these boots in order to have sure footing through the winter months.  They make me happy EVERY time I wear them so they were indeed worth the cost.

This fall I saw these lovely boot liners with a white sweater topper.  I needed to have them.  I mentioned this to my wonderful husband and magically at Christmas they appeared!

Enjoy, I certainly do!

Just incase one picture wasn't enough, I took two!

January

January is always a time of renewal.  People think because it's a new year that it's time to get reorganized, get fit, make more money.....whatever is important to them.

I like January for it's slower pace, it really is a time for reenergizing.  I live in Canada, so January means cold.  So you spend a little more time indoors and with the people you love.  The Christmas rush is over and there is nothing really happening for a few months.  Unless of course you are one of the lucky ones that are heading south!!

I am not one of those lucky ones, maybe next year.  But I find January is good for bringing your life back in order.  Mine was definately crazy in December!  I started January off with some excellent quality time with my family and have so many plans to make my world a little happier!

We are going to start major renovations in our basement and minor renovations to our upstairs great room.  I am very excited for both!  I will make sure to document and discuss all of our great changes!

The Holiday Season

The holiday's are such a great time for visiting with family and friends.  This Christmas was one for the record books.  Lots of crazyiness but lots of family fun!

As we start out the 2012 year, I have been thinking about all the things I have been going over after I read the Happiness Project.

One of things I want to do more of because I really do enjoy it and I really do think it's fun.  Crafty!!!!

Today as I was taking down my Christmas cards and pictures I was a little sad to not be able to display the happy Christmas pictures anymore.  So I decided to make a collage of all of the pictures to display on our cork board!!
